The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Women's Hospital is equipped with GE Healthcare's integrated satellite monitoring system, one of the most advanced continuous newborn surveillance platforms available in clinical use. Every baby in our 14-bed Level 1, 2, and 3 NICU is connected to a real-time monitoring network that continuously tracks heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, temperature, and blood pressure, with data transmitted to a central station visible to the entire nursing and medical team at all times.

This is not standard bedside monitoring. GE satellite monitoring creates a fully integrated network across the entire NICU, where a change in any baby's vital signs triggers an immediate alert to the clinical team, regardless of where in the unit they are, allowing response times that would otherwise be impossible in a busy neonatal environment.
